There's been a lot happening behind the scenes at EDiT. lately, and one project has been getting plenty of attention in the framing workshop...
James Kingman's latest 'Just a Nipple' series has arrived, and our team is already hard at work carefully framing every single piece! This exclusive EDiT. has each artwork James recently stopped by HQ from his base in Margate to put the finishing touches on the collection and see everything coming together. It's always a pleasure having him in the gallery, especially when there's a new body of work taking shape.
True to James' playful approach, this newest 'Just A Nipple' series is designed to start conversation! Available in a range of skin tones, each piece invites viewers to look beyond the initial reaction and ask why something as ordinary as a nipple can still feel so provocative!
For James, the 'Just a Nipple' pokes fun at gendered censorship across media and popular culture. Removed from the body and presented on their own, they are exactly what they are, just a nipple.
The balance of wit and social commentary is something we at EDiT. have love about James's work. His pieces have a way of making people laugh and often start talking. James's 'Just a Nipple' pieces naturally become the centre of attention.
For now, it's back to the framing workshop as the team prepares every piece for its final reveal. We can't wait to show you the finished collection…we have a feeling these little conversation starters won't be around for long!
