CONSiGNMENT T&Cs

Here at EDiT., we’re incredibly proud to work with such a talented community of artists. We're excited to offer you the opportunity to join us in showcasing and selling their work. To ensure a smooth and successful partnership, please carefully read the terms and conditions below, which outline how our consignment process works.

By embarking on consignment with us and replying by email acknowledging receipt of this information, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agreed to the following terms.

ONBOARDING

  • By receiving and acknowledging via email, you agree to all the terms and conditions outlined here.

  • During our initial meeting, we will have discussed your client base and confirmed that the artwork you receive aligns with your market.

  • A consignment sheet will be provided listing all artworks consigned to you. You will only receive framed artworks.

  • Once your order is prepared, we will notify you to collect it from EDiT. HQ in Hackney Wick.

  • While we do not consign unframed artworks, we can ship unframed pieces directly to your customers upon request. These are subject to the same commission terms listed on your consignment sheet, plus a £8 postage and packaging fee. Unframed artwork prices can be found on our website.

  • We typically begin with a small number of artworks. As you begin to sell, we can increase your stock accordingly.

PRICING

  • Your consignment sheet will list:

    • The RRP (Recommended Retail Price) for each artwork.

    • The commission percentage due to EDiT. from each sale.

  • RRP must not be discounted under any circumstances, as pricing is set by the artists.

  • If you choose to price artworks above RRP, that's entirely up to you. The commission due to EDiT. will still be based on the RRP listed.

ARTWORKS IN YOUR CARE:

  • All artworks will be collected by you from EDiT. HQ in Hackney Wick.

  • We will condition-check all items prior to collection. You are welcome to inspect them yourself before taking them.

  • Once artworks leave EDiT. HQ, they become your responsibility.

  • We strongly recommend that you obtain insurance to cover all consigned artworks in your care.

  • If any piece is damaged while in your possession:

    • We will invoice you for the repair cost.

    • If the artwork cannot be repaired, we will invoice you for the full RRP minus your commission.

EXCLUSIVITY

  • By partnering with EDiT., you agree not to approach or work directly with our artists. All relationships and transactions must go through us.

  • Should you bypass this agreement and engage an artist directly, you will be invoiced a £2,000 introduction fee. Your acceptance of these T&Cs confirms your agreement to this clause.

PAYMENT TERMS

  • A member of our team will contact you in the second week of each month to request sales data.

  • You must reply within 7 days of being contacted. Failure to do so will constitute a breach of our agreement, and all artworks must be returned immediately.

  • After receiving your sales data, our accounts department will issue an invoice. Payment is due by the end of the same month.

  • If a customer returns a purchased artwork, we will review it on a case-by-case basis.

RETURN OF ARTWORKS

  • You are responsible for returning artworks to us, whether it's at your request or ours.

  • If EDiT. requests a return, the artwork must be sent back within 7 days.

  • If you wish to exchange unsold artworks, please contact our team to arrange this.

  • All returned artworks will be condition-checked on arrival. Any damages will be handled in accordance with the terms above.

TERMINATION

EDiT. may terminate this agreement at any time, effective immediately and without liability, if:

  • The relationship no longer aligns with EDiT.’s values or standards;

  • Your actions harm or threaten our artists, brand, or reputation;

  • You breach these terms; or

  • Your conduct is unprofessional, unethical, or otherwise misaligned with this collaboration.

All consigned artworks must be returned, and outstanding payments settled within 7 days of notice.
