OVERViEW.
EDiT. is looking for a freelance e-commerce assistant to join our team. This is a new role that is being recruited to accommodate our growth so is a fantastic opportunity to have a real impact on the look and feel of the digital aspect of the gallery. The role also has the potential become permanent and full time if our online sales continue to grow.
THE ROLE.
Supporting the Gallery and Social Media Co-ordinators, this role will be a mix of website maintenance, social media content creation and digital artwork presentation. Specific roles include but are not limited to:
- Content creation for Instagram and TikTok (when live).
- Product photography for the website.
- Mock up interior shots.
- Goods in and stock maintenance.
- Opening and closing the gallery, serving customers, conducting framing consultations.
HOURS: 6-8 days a month depending on demand and to include 2 weekend days a month. Our working day is 9.45am - 5.30pm with a 30 min lunch break.
PLACE OF WORK: EDiT. 2 Greenwich Market, London, SE10.
PAY: £100 per day.
Although this is a digital role, we are a team here so everybody takes their turn working weekends. Additionally, it is important that as the successful candidate will be planning content that they are here on high footfall days to see how people interact with the different works.
THE PERSON:
An accessible and fun ethos is at the forefront of what we do as a gallery and it is imperative that filters into our workplace culture, therefore the person is more important to us than their experience and so no gallery experience is required. We are looking for somebody who wants to be a part of a team so can work collaboratively, however this is an admin heavy role so the primary requirement is to be able to work independently with accuracy and speed. The following qualities are a must:
- Attention to detail.
- Efficient administrator.
- High visual standards.
- Enjoy digital management.
- Able to apply care and attention when handling art (we will show you how! but if you are super clumsy this may not be the role for you :o)
TO APPLY:
If this does sound like you then please use the application form below. We don't want you to spend a load time writing a cover letter but have included a couple of quick questions for you to answer about yourself and what you would bring to the team.
You will see there is also space to add two social media links - this can either be a channel or a post you have done. As it is such an important part of the role it would be really great to see some examples of your social media competence but please don't worry if your links aren't about art. We are excited to see what you have to offer irrelevant of your areas of experience.
Please add the full link to the social media as opposed to just the handles.
The deadline for applications is midnight on Sunday 5th Jan, with interviews taking place on Friday 10th Jan. The start date for this role is flexible dependant on the successful candidate's availability.
Please note - due to high volumes of applicants we can only get back to successful candidates. We are, however, always super happy to give constructive feedback so if you don't hear back from us before the interview date please email hiya@editart.co.uk and we will provide you with some points that may help you for your next application - with us or elsewhere!
