CULTURAL PROGRAMMiNG

WORKSHOP T&Cs

At EDiT., we’re passionate about supporting arts programming and those bringing it to life. We offer our Hackney Wick space for workshops and art events. Please read the following terms and conditions carefully—we’re excited to collaborate with you!

HOW DOES IT WORK?

We require all prospective workshop leaders to visit the space before making a booking. We don’t accept any bookings without an in-person viewing. As a working gallery, our setup is a little unconventional—but we promise your participants will love it.

During your visit, we’ll discuss your workshop and whether it’s a good fit for our programming. As there are artworks stored onsite, we don’t accept workshops that could pose any risk to the space or to our brand.

We’ll start with a trial workshop. If both parties feel it’s successful, we’ll look at scheduling your workshop on a regular basis. We’re not looking for one-off sessions, we want to develop ongoing programming that builds a consistent audience.

We'll support your marketing efforts via our dedicated workshop newsletter and a targeted Meta Suite campaign. Please note, workshops will not be promoted on our main Instagram page (which is reserved for art sales).

FEES

As we understand that you have materials to buy and expenses associated with the event you will sell tickets through your own ticketing system. We’ll link to it from our events page on the EDiT. website.

Hire Fee (excl. VAT):

  • £50 for an evening session (5–9 PM)
  • £100 for a full day (10 AM–5 PM)
  • This fee is taken as a non-refundable deposit.

Commission: 10% of total ticket sales (inclusive of VAT). Your booking is not confirmed until the hire fee has been paid. Please inform us of your ticket sales by 9 AM the day before your event. We’ll invoice you for our 10% share, which must be paid at least 4 hours before the workshop. Our team will then set up the space according to the number of attendees you’ve paid for. If you sell more tickets after that, you can pay the balance on arrival.

Any workshop overruns will be charged at £50 per additional hour.

THOUGHTS & CONSIDERATIONS

  • Maximum seating capacity: 26
Please note: As we are a working gallery space, some seating arrangements might not suit all needs. Please make sure you are aware of the seating arrangements in your meeting.

  • All workshop materials must be approved in advance. You’ll be responsible for any damage caused to artworks, furniture, tech, or anything else onsite.

  • We are not licensed to sell alcohol. You may allow guests to bring their own, but no money can exchange hands for alcohol onsite. You are liable for any damage caused by spills or breakages related to alcohol.

  • You must have Public Liability Insurance. The safety of your guests will be your responsibility on site (public liability is really cheap and easy to do - its not as scary as it seems we promise).

  • You must leave the space as you found it. Failure to clean up will result in a £50 cleaning fee.

  • Furniture must not be moved.

  • Bring everything you need with you, and take everything away after your session. We do not offer overnight storage.

  • Parking: £25/day. Please inform us in advance so we can register your number plate.

  • A member of the EDiT. team will be onsite throughout your workshop, though they’ll be working on other gallery tasks. They will greet guests, but not participate in the running of your workshop. If you need assistance running your workshop, we have a wide community of artists and creatives we can recommend for approximately £13/hour.

  • Only workshop leaders and assistants may access the kitchen/office area. You’ll have use of the kettle and available fridge space. No food prep is allowed. Please bring your own tea and coffee. No workshop participants are allowed in the kitchen/office areas.

We can’t wait to work with you!
