Formally the founder of several thriving advertising agencies, Dave applies his expertise in mass communication and advertising into his own art practice. Creating bold, eye-catching pieces that leave a lasting impression, Dave blends vibrant colours with clever messaging to produce engaging artwork with a memorable presence.

Frequently working with vintage ephemera, Dave imbues each piece with a sense of personal history and storytelling - ensuring each artwork carries a narrative.

After 30 + years working in advertising and founding St Lukes (the world's first advertising co-op and described as the ‘most frightening company on earth’ by Harvard Business Review) Dave Buonaguidi decided to steer off course and explore his creativity as a practising artist.

Working on found images and materials, Dave takes an investigative approach to his printing practice. He aims to create a reaction in the viewer, contrasting familiar or found imagery with vibrant text and occasionally colourful language!

Although he has moved away from his advertising background, Hackney Dave credits his time working in advertising as providing him with the discipline and work ethic needed to be a successful artist and to collaborate effectively with galleries.

With London as his base, Dave Buonaguidi uses colloquialisms to capture quintessentially British statements. ‘London is Always a Good Idea’, ‘Let’s Get Lost Together’ and ‘Fucking Love This Place’ are a few examples that tie English romanticism with something a little bit cheeky.

Dave collects the unique materials he works on from flea markets, car boot sales, auction sites, ebay and the kindness of strangers. This means we have a massively varied selection of Dave’s multifaceted art practice and we are sure you will find something you love!
